• ActivPen

Teachers told us they found that touch-sensitive screens could be temperamental. Educational specialists told us children’s writing is best developed by holding and using a pen from a young age. So Promethean designed a unique battery-free, wire-free ActivPen.

• ActivArena

In the ActivClassroom, everyone wants to come to the board. With ActivArena, students and teachers can assemble and contribute together. It’s two people and two pens toward an endless environment of collaboration.

ActivArena turns our ActivBoard into an impromptu gathering point or a tutor’s corner for one-on-one help sessions—all under the instructor’s control. Teachers can choose to activate and deactivate the “intelligent” student pen. The idea revolutionizes interactive whiteboard technology, allowing two students to teach each other or students and teachers to work together—exponentially enriching the learning experience and enhancing the possibilities of every single lesson.

• ActivWand

In the ActivClassroom, everyone—small, tall, same or different—can join the learning journey. ActivWand places inclusion within reach by putting a long, mouse-enabled pointer in the hands of those who most need it.

With its ergonomic handle and intuitive “click,” hover and rollover functions, ActivWand works just like a mouse and just like our ActivPen—just with a little more reach. Twenty-one inches of reach, to be exact. Enough for even the smallest learner to touch the top of the ActivBoard, plenty for differentlyabled students to fully participate, and even adequate for seated teachers to control the board with ease.

• ActivSlate

In the ActivClassroom, nothing is static—subjects, lessons and especially participants and participation fully come alive. And while students enjoy interacting by coming to the ActivBoard, teachers also want connection and freedom of movement—teaching from student desks, debating from the four corners of the room, directing the lesson from inside group discussions.

ActivSlate makes dynamic, interactive classroom experiences everyday occurrences by giving anyone who wishes to participate control of the ActivBoard from anywhere in the ActivClassroom. A wireless, fully integrated, notebook-sized tablet, ActivSlate uses the same ActivPens as our ActivBoard, is small enough to sit on a student desk, and is light enough to be carried into the heart of any discussion. The ActivClassroom supports as many as 16 ActivSlates, but gives teachers the last word with regard to control. Only one ActivSlate can be used at a time—instructors choose who has the floor and who waits patiently for their turn by activating and deactivating slates at will.

• ActivTablet

Take the classroom anywhere. In the ActivClassroom (or any classroom), planning is pivotal, but preparation isn’t always an in-room experience. At home, at the coffee shop and on the go, away from the ActivBoard, teachers need the flexibility to take the interactive show on the road.

That’s why we created ActivTablet, a portable, pen-driven interface that allows educators to create with ActivInspire just as they would in front of the ActivBoard. Plug ActivTablet into a laptop or desktop computer running ActivInspire software, and its pressure-sensitive surface acts just like the larger surface of our ActivBoard. Just use the included battery-free wireless pen to perform any of ActivInspire’s functions, then pack everything up and move on to the next destination—the ActivClassroom now travels light.

• ActivPanel

 

In the ActivClassroom, bigger is better only most of the time. What do you do if your classroom or lecture hall is too large (or just not suitable) for an ActivBoard? Our ActivPanel can help. It’s a 15-inch LCD mini-board that plugs straight into your PC and lets you use a pen-like stylus to control our ActivInspire software, which can then be projected onto any size screen in razor-sharp detail.

ActivPanel allows total control of the lesson, the lecture, and ActivInspire software, without forcing you to turn your back on the audience. Whatever is onyour PC’s screen shows up on your ActivPanel, and everything on your ActivPanel shows up on your room’s screen. Just make the necessary connections, grab your stylus, and connect with students, parents, attendees, or anyone else anxiously awaiting the show.

• ActivRemote

 

The promise of learning is boundless. The act of teaching should be too. With ActivRemote, instructors can maximize their movement throughout the classroom—collaborating here, collecting insight there—all while still controlling a central computer and ActivBoard.

With the push of a button, from anywhere in the classroom, teachers can use ActivRemote to direct ActiVote and ActivExpression voting, advance presentation slides, open applications or web browsers, start movies or command any other software or web browser function that can be made with keyboard shortcuts.

It works with any whiteboard and any computer program, but comes pre-programmed (and pre-destined) to work seamlessly, wirelessly, with every part of the ActivClassroom. Just set each of ActivRemote’s seven buttons to execute your most-performed tasks, and connect to the board— and students around the room—
all at once.

 

• ActiView

From the ActivClassroom, every view is spectacular. Educators the world over already jet across continents and traverse eons in full color and motion through our ActivBoard and ActivInspire software, but now learning journeys can become even more real—with our ActiView Visual Presenter.

Put any object under ActiView’s gooseneck-mounted lens and lamp combination and your treasures, text, even flora and fauna are projected in vivid detail on the ActivBoard. Examine the smallest shell with automatic zoom and focus. Capture still-frames or the fluid motion of waving butterfly wings, then save to a computer for future inspiration. Share your work with the entire classroom or build an image library of everyday objects and extraordinary finds for use in your lessons. ActiView puts the whole wide world on display.
